How to Reheat Corn On The Cob: 4 Fast and Easy Methods

In a nutshell: There are four ways to reheat corn on the cob: in boiling water, in the oven, in the microwave, or in the air fryer.

One of the reasons we love summer is that delicious and sweet taste of corn on the cob. Whether you cooked it or baked it on the fire, corn has been a great treat and dessert for generations.

What always comes with corn is that you have more of it than you eat at once. Of course, if you have lit a barbecue, you will not bake just one corn and then light a fire again for another later. You will roast at least a dozen corn right away. The trick to enjoying them later is to know how to warm them up well. You can use our techniques to reheat frozen corn just as same.

Reheat Corn On The Cob In Boiling Water

Reheating in boiling water applies, of course, only to cooked corn. You will not be able to reheat roasted corn in boiled water successfully. But for the cooked type, this is an ideal way of warming.

Additionally, it’s a relatively quick way because you just have to wait for the water to boil. After that, you’re done reheating in a few minutes.

Step 1: Bring Water to a Boil

First, put water to heat to boiling point. Take a pot that mostly matches the amount of corn you cook. So, adjust the amount of water. You won’t need a lot more water except to cover the corn you place in the bowl.

Step 2: Add the Corn and Cook until Heated

When the water has boiled, put the corn in it. As the corn is already cooked, you do not need to boil it much further, just let it heat up well. All this should take maybe 2 or 3 minutes. Determine how hot the corn you want, but heat it a little harder rather than keeping it lukewarm.

Reheating Corn On The Cob In The Oven

In the oven, you can heat both types of corn on the cob, both cooked and baked. The procedure is almost the same. Only in the case of boiled corn, we have to tell you that heating in boiling water is a much faster and more efficient way, so you may prefer to opt for that procedure.

Step 1: Preheat the Oven to 350 °F

The first step is, of course, to preheat the oven. Set it at a temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit and let it warm up thoroughly. During this time, you can prepare the grilled corn.

Step 2: Prepare the Corn for Reheating

Put the corn in an aluminum foil. Add butter and a pinch of salt if desired, and in the case of boiled corn, add a tablespoon of water. Wrap it all well in foil. Prepare each corn cob separately by this procedure and wrap.

If you want, you can add some other spices to your liking—pepper, or something else.

Step 3: Bake for 10 Minutes

Leave the corn in the oven to heat for about 10 minutes. After that, it should be nicely warmed up and ready to eat. Of course, when you take the corn out of the oven, if it’s not heated enough, put it back for an extra few minutes.

Warming Corn On The Cob In The Microwave

The microwave is one of the fastest ways to reheat, and you can use it for cooked, baked or frozen leftover corn. You will only slightly adjust the way you prepare the corn for warming. The heating technique is then the same.

Step 1: Prepare the Corn on the Cob

Depending on what type of prepared corn you have, adjust the procedure. For the boiled corn, you’ll need a bit of water to create steam and reheat it properly. Meaning you should place your corn in a microwave safe dish, add some water, and cover it with a lid. Or simply wrap the corn in a damp towel to ensure moisture.

For roasted corn, you don’t need water but definitely need to add some moisture to your corn, not to dry out and pop. It would be best to coat the corn with butter to keep it moist and juicy.

Step 2: Heat the Corn at Short Intervals

What is crucial in the warm-up process is to use short cycles of 30 seconds. That way, the corn won’t start to pop, and it will heat up nicely from all sides.

After 30 seconds, therefore, open the microwave, turn the corn and continue to heat for an additional 30 seconds. Repeat same method until you get the desired result.

Heat Up Corn On The Cob In The Air Fryer

Of all the foods that are super easy to reheat in an air fryer, sweet corn on the cob is one of the natural friends of this kitchen appliance. Everything is perfect for reheating corn. The air fryer works with hot air, there is also a grid basket, and everything is ready in a few minutes. Flawlessly. Here are the steps you need to take to reheat delicious corn quickly and probably get it off the plate even faster.

Step 1: Prepare the Corn on the Cob

There are two ways you can approach the preparation of corn. If you have grilled corn, it will be enough to put the cobs in a basket and it’s ready. No additional coating is even necessary. You can add a little butter to the hot corn afterward if you like. It’s just important not to pile too many corn on top of each other because they won’t heat up evenly. One layer will be best.

If you have boiled corn, you can wrap it in aluminum foil, to which you will add a spoonful of cold water. Each clip separately, of course. That way, you will have a more cooked taste again. But you can also heat these boiled corn on the cob without foil. They will also be tasty and maybe a little crispy.

Step 2: Heat up the Air Fryer and cook

The ideal temperature will be around 350 F for both heating versions. Insert the basket with corn inside and turn on the machine for about 4 minutes. Check if you reached the desired temperature, and if necessary, leave another minute for a hotter result. Serve immediately and enjoy your meal.
